‘RNIB Approved’ is a quality assurance mark to identify products that are easy –to-use if you're blind or partially sighted.
Products and services which are granted ‘RNIB Approved’ status have gone through a rigorous process which involves testing by accessibility experts before being reviewed by a panel of blind and partially sighted people, who have used the product or service for a minimum period of three months.
RNIB Approved was developed with the expert advice of Dr Gabriella Spinelli, Reader in Design Innovation, from the Department of Design at Brunel University. It was launched by the charity in response to demand from customers with sight loss, as well as from businesses which want to ensure their products and services are accessible.
RNIB Approved is the only service for which a logo is awarded. It applies to physical and digital products, web and apps and will shortly extended to buildings and services.
